The ASD Behavioral Intervention Assistant will implement proactive strategies to support students navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Beyond their direct impact on students, they will serve as a vital consultant and resource for staff, fostering a collaborative environment for student success. This position will work alongside the ASD Behavior Consultant-Secondary.

Required High school diploma Experience working with students with challenging emotional, behavioral, and social challenges and at-risk students with academic, social, and behavioral concerns CPI Certified by the district BI Trainings provided by the district Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related field

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Ability to work with students in special education with challenging emotional, behavioral, and social challenges Ability to form strong and positive relationships with students and staff Knowledge of behavior management and de-escalation techniques Ability to observe, chart, and specifically describe student behaviors. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and serve as a special education resource Listening, written, and oral communication skills Essential Duties Coordinates and implements positive behavior interventions for identified students Works with building administration in the implementation of programs with positive and proactive behavior strategies and supports for the school community Assists in classrooms to meet individual and group needs Record and track student behavior data Work with teachers, intervention teams, school personnel, families, students, and other agencies to support student success. Record and analyze intervention data Submit records in compliance with district and state guidelines Other duties as assigned.
