Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) specializing in Resource Support and Development. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism and other challenges, to promote independence, community engagement, and personal achievement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong caregiving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive environment for those served. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence. Implement behavioral health strategies and behavior management techniques to support positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Facilitate social skills development and community integration through engaging activities and outings. Collect data on individual progress, behavior patterns, and service outcomes to inform care planning and reporting requirements. Support medication administration following prescribed protocols while maintaining safety standards. Provide transportation for appointments, activities, or community outings using a personal or agency vehicle as needed. Collaborate with team members, families, and other professionals to develop individualized support plans that meet each person's unique needs. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices. Proficiency in communication skills, including American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred. Background in home and community care environments with experience assisting with ADLs and caregiving tasks. Ability to manage data collection accurately for progress tracking and reporting purposes. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and medication administration protocols. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation responsibilities; experience in childcare or social work is advantageous.
