Community Health Alliance is looking for full-time Behavioral Health Psychiatric Assistant. Join our talented team of Behavioral Health that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income.
Job Description:
The Psychiatric Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality behavioral health medication management services within an integrated ambulatory care setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary care team, this position assists psychiatric providers by preparing patients for examinations, performing assigned clinical and administrative duties, conducting CLIA-waived urine drug screenings, documenting accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR), coordinating patient care activities, and promoting a safe, compassionate, and efficient patient experience. The Psychiatric Assistant demonstrates professionalism, maintains strict patient confidentiality, complies with all regulatory requirements, and contributes to a positive patient-centered environment consistent with Community Health Alliance's mission and values. We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. Our team members enjoy benefits that include: Competitive salary: $45,824-$68,732 100% company paid employee medical insurance and 90% paid vision and dental on the 60th day from date of hire.
Paid Time Off:
PTO 15 days/year and increased after one years of service: pro-rated based on FTE status 8 paid holidays per year CHA paid pension plan at 5% of earnings after one year of service; no employee match Additional 403(b)retirement annuity plan for employee to save; no employer match CHA provides a $10,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy for each benefit-eligible employee at no cost to the employee. Education & Qualification High School Diploma or GED. Current CPR/BLS certification. Current Nevada Laboratory Assistant License or other license permitting performance of CLIA-waived testing, if required by state regulations. Ability to successfully complete required competency assessments. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records. Preferred One (1) year of experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction medicine, or ambulatory healthcare. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Experience with electronic medical records. Experience performing urine drug screening or other point-of-care laboratory testing.

Basic behavioral health and psychiatric terminology. Principles of patient confidentiality (HIPAA). OSHA safety standards and infection prevention practices. CLIA-waived laboratory testing procedures. Medical office workflows and patient scheduling processes. Electronic medical record documentation standards. Accurate measurement and documentation of vital signs. Effective patient interviewing and intake. Strong verbal and written communication. Organization and time management. Computer and EMR proficiency. Attention to detail. Prioritization of multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Customer service and patient engagement. Maintain confidentiality with sensitive patient information. Exercise sound judgment within established protocols. Work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Build rapport with behavioral health patients while maintaining professional boundaries. Adapt to changing priorities throughout the workday. Follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Maintain professionalism during stressful situations. Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Pay:
$41,080.00 - $52,208.00 per year
