Job Description

Job Summary Care for Construction (CFC) is leading the industry nationally - providing on-site services to support the mental health and wellbeing of hardworking men and women in the construction industry. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will serve as a trusted peer and advocate, providing support, guidance, and mentorship to individuals in the
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and behavioral health concerns. Your lived experience will empower clients to foster hope, resilience, and positive change. Responsibilities Offer empathetic peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation. Assist tradespeople in developing coping strategies and behavioral health skills through active listening and motivational interviewing techniques. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stabilization. Collaborate with Safety and CFC teams to coordinate care plans, provide resources, and track progress. Mentor tradespeople on stress management skills, healthy coping skills, addiction counseling strategies, mental health management, and social skills. Facilitate group activities or peer-led sessions focused on recovery, wellness, and social engagement. Maintain confidentiality while adhering to all organizational policies regarding client privacy and documentation standards. Experience Spanish/English fluent preferred Lived experience with mental health challenges or substance use recovery is highly valued; previous peer support work is preferred but not required. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols. Familiarity with behavioral health concepts, mental health counseling approaches, and addiction counseling principles. Experience using EHR systems for documentation and case tracking is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and build trusting relationships with diverse populations. Pay:
$24.07 - $35.00 per hour
