Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CRPA - Behavioral Health/Recovery to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals facing various mental health challenges. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health, as well as effective communication skills, to support members in navigating their journeys toward improved well-being. As a Peer Lead organization, we believe in the power of lived experience and are dedicated to helping you turn yours into meaningful support for others. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one support to our members, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and resilience. Utilize motivational techniques to encourage members to set and achieve personal goals. Assist members in developing coping strategies and life skills necessary for maintaining wellness. Facilitate sessions focused on peer support, education, and skill-building. Implement crisis management and intervention strategies when necessary to ensure member safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, mental health counselors, and specialists, to coordinate care. Maintain accurate documentation of member interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies. Advocate for members across various systems, including healthcare, housing, and employment services. Support members with daily tasks like shopping, scheduling appointments, and participating in extracurricular activities. Requirements Must have a NY Certified Recovery Peer Advocate certification for employment Must have lived experience dealing with personal behavioral health or mental health challenges. Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Knowledge of mental health counseling practices and social work principles is beneficial. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse populations. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining member confidentiality. A genuine passion for helping others achieve their goals. Ability to navigate technology confidently, using a tablet or desktop computer to join team meetings, record session notes, and support members with virtual appointments. Pay:
$21.00 - $30.00 per hour
