Community Habilitation Specialist

Part time hours: 20-25hours a week Mondays & Fridays- 3hours during the day Weekdays 5pm-8pm 3x/ a week Saturdays 12pm-3pm

This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with diverse populations, including those with autism and behavioral health needs, in a dynamic and rewarding setting. Duties Works one on one with individual , or two at a time (a married couple) using strategies and community based activities designed to promote skill building in the areas of communication socialization behavior independent living movement and etc. Implement staff action plans which helps individuals reach their goals. Assist individuals in performing various community-based activities Assist Individuals in developing networks through community integration, participation in group activities, and pursuing personal interests to promote social, communication and ADL skills. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed Support social skills development through engaging activities that foster communication, interaction, and community participation. Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and address challenging behaviors compassionately. Collect and document data on client progress, service delivery, and behavioral observations to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance. Accompany clients to community outings, appointments, or activities while maintaining safety and adherence to transportation policies. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health conditions is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills or American Sign Language (ASL). Experience in home or community care settings, including assisting with ADLs and providing caregiving support. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and data collection methods to monitor progress. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to safely transport clients when necessary. Background in social work or related fields is a plus; certification in medication administration or caregiving is advantageous but not required initially.
