Description:
Supervise students, assist with assignments, understand and maintain academic and behavioral standards
NOTE:
The below lists are not ranked in order of importance
Basic Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to the following:
Supervise students who have been assigned
Distribute assignments from the teachers to the students
Assist the students as needed with their course work
Understand and maintain the academic and behavioral standards set for the students by the Principal and Administration
Coach students in problem solving and social skills
Provide crisis intervention assistance as directed by the Principal
Conduct individual or group advising sessions related to behavior
Exercise diplomacy in answering questions and resolve situations involving students, parents, public and/or school staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Attend in-services, meetings, and/or training programs as required by Board Policy, the Superintendent or his/her designee
Perform home visits as required by he Superintendent or his/her designee
Ride the bus with students as required by the Superintendent or his/her designee
Monitor after school student interventions as required by the Superintendent or his/her designee
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with public in official capacity when required
Interact with Superintendent and/or Board of Education and present information as requested
Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens
Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner
Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships
Attend professional growth seminars, workshops, etc., to keep current on relevant issues
Discipline students when necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee
Qualifications:
Minimum Associates Degree or documented experience in supervising students with assignments and behavioral standards in a K-12 public school environment
Ohio Department of Education
- Educational Aide Certificate

Previous experience with children in a learning environment

Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop
