Behavior Support Specialist:
Location:
Clermont County Area Hours :
Seasonal, Full time. (This position will have orientation on July 27th-29th. And you will tentatively begin full time hours on August 14th.)
Degree Required:
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
License Preferred:
LSW, RA, OCPSA
Pay Rate:
Compensation for this position is $23/hour
Experience Preferred:
Two years' experience with children ages birth to five preferred. Experience working with challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and understanding of behavior management techniques preferred.
Description:
Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the Teacher and Assistant Teacher with challenging behaviors, using early childhood trauma informed support and practices in the classroom. Works cooperatively with the Behavior Support Team, providing one-on-one classroom support to children, across the Clermont County.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on support in classrooms when there significant behavioral or social-emotional concerns when they are identified, using trauma-informed practices and Conscious Discipline strategies. Attend team meetings with parents, teachers and ECMHT to create an intervention plan, and follow up with staff and parents as needed under the direction of the Behavior Support Coach. Collaborates with the Behavior Support Coach to develop behavior strategies to address concerns. Attend specialized professional development to continue improving skills related to the position and to increase program quality, especially in the areas of trauma-informed practice, Conscious Discipline, and social-emotional development.
