Job Description
Job Overview This is an hourly community- based role located in Garfield Heights, OH, and Old Brooklyn, OH for a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CDCA), QMHS, and/or licensed Peer Supporters. In this position, the
QMHS/PRS/CDCA
will provide various services based on staff licensure, client need and their individualized treatment plan including: Peer Support Individual Counseling (CDCA only) while maintaining accurate client records, facilitate progress reviews, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care, and educate clients about substance use and support their development of recovery strategies. We currently have 2 openings available for a 12-hour shift every Sunday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.; one for women's housing and one for men's housing. Services will be provided to adult residents living in certified sober living homes who are attending outpatient addiction and mental health treatment and need support rebuilding their lives. Responsibilities Licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) in the state of Ohio and/or, Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS), and/or Peer Support Specialist Skills in case management Knowledge of addiction treatment approaches, including evidence-based practices, and experience educating clients about substance use and recovery Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate documentation as part of client care Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Basic proficiency in common office software and systems for record-keeping (Kipu EMR) Ability to adhere to ethical guidelines, boundaries and maintain client confidentiality Previous experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting is preferred High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant education or training is a plus Assist housing clients with basic needs Must have technology skills - able to utilize EMR software, phone system software to communicate with clients securely and safely, scan and download forms while on the go. Candidates who struggle with technology significantly are liable to not make it past the 90 day probationary period. Experience Proven experience working with adults struggling with SUD and M/H in clinical or outpatient settings Demonstrated proficiency behavioral health interventions Hands-on experience in crisis management, behavior management techniques Must have an active Medicaid billing number to start Qualifications Must have an active NPI, CAQH and Medicaid billing number before start date (we can provide instructions on how to obtain this, but we are not able to provide one on one assistance) Pay is per documented session and start rate is based level of experience, documentation quality, knowledge and level of training needed.
