The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral therapy and experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This role involves providing patient care, doing groups and implementing therapeutic interventions to support the behavioral health of our clients. The Behavioral Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical documentation and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Collect and analyze data on client progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Provide support and training to families on effective strategies for managing behaviors at home. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Participate in intake processes for new clients, gathering relevant information to inform treatment planning. Stay current with best practices in special education and behavioral health to enhance service delivery. Provide information for discharges Qualifications Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, special education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. A High school degree with proven 3 years working with children. Experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques.. Familiarity with medical terminology and medical documentation practices. Strong data collection skills for tracking client progress and outcomes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
