Full Job Description Parent Peer Support Specialist Job Summary:
The Parent Peer Support Specialist provides support to caregivers with children that have behavioral health challenges, and/or, mental health diagnosis within the community in a team approach. This support includes one-on-one consultation to identify goals for caregivers and walk alongside them as they navigate systems of care.
Responsibilities:
Utilize shared lived experience with parents who have children using services Work with a clinical team to engage crisis clients in recommended services Serve as a liaison and advocate for caregivers in need of peer support with services Build and maintain relationships and good communication with other service providers and supports in the community Help clients and their families mobilize and use social supports and community resources Complete documentation within required time frames Actively participate as a positive team member in the MRSS Department Maintain proficiency in use of electronic health record system Abides by the
Agency Policies and Procedures Requirements:
Have lived experience with a child who had behavioral health challenges and/or mental health diagnosis(es) High School Diploma required Strong communication and engagement skills Ability to drive to other work locations and within the community Valid driver's license, clean driving record and auto insurance required Flexible schedule with evening availability
Compensation & Benefits:
The role is part-time, hourly non-exempt position.
