Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact working as a full-time paraprofessional, supporting a 5th-grade student with mobility challenges and daily living needs. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding position starting as soon as possible through the end of the school year. In this important role, you'll help provide the care and encouragement a student requires to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Qualifications:
Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred Comfort assisting students with mobility limitations, including using assistive devices or providing physical support Confidence supporting feeding and hygiene needs, including assistance with eating and personal care Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, compassionate attitude Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers Reliability and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
Core Responsibilities:
Offer one-on-one assistance for a 5th-grade student in a middle school classroom Support the student with daily mobility transitions (within the classroom, between classes, and to specialized activities) Help the student with eating, including adaptive feeding techniques when needed Provide support during toileting and scheduled changes, always preserving dignity and privacy Foster a supportive and engaging atmosphere for learning and social interaction Communicate progress and any concerns to the teaching team and related staff Ensure safety protocols and individualized accommodations are consistently followed This is a fantastic chance to make a difference each school day.
