Behavior Intervention Assistant Reports to:
Site Principal Supervises:
None Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor or Associate Degree in behavioral health or related field preferred. Three to five years of experience providing students with behavioral support preferred. Satisfy Every Student Succeeds Act requirements by: Completed at least 2 years of study (48 hrs.) at an institution of higher ed, or Hold an associate's degree or higher, or Obtained a National Career Readiness Certificate through successful completion of the ACT, WorkKeys Assessment, or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment Test - Passing Score is 455, or Passed the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) Test. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal:
Assist in the implementation of behavior skills instruction and interventions designed to meet the specific goals and objectives for children with behavioral intervention needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide behavior support and interventions to students in 1:1 and group settings. Use intensive teaching and environmental behavior interventions. Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols. Follow and record data for prescribed protocols, as instructed. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior. Model and support intervention strategies in student(s) in classrom. Effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers and related staff regarding student progress. Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with students. Assist teacher in preparing student materials as instructed. Participate in professional learning and other training programs, as required. Maintain student confidentiality. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms:
Nine (9) month classified hourly contract

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Staff Evaluation (2.21/classified).

Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Visual Requirements:
Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information.
