Job Description

Shift:
Thursday-Saturday and e/o Wednesday 7p-7a
Responsibilities:
Be aware of and follow confidentiality guidelines as provided by GRAND Mental Health's policy and contained in the legal provisions of 42 CFR part 2 Conduct self in a professional manner in personal appearance and in the qualities presented to clients, the public, and co-workers Assist and conduct intake, admission, and discharge procedures Maintain unit security and assist in basic crisis intervention Facilitate groups as assigned Help keep unit clean Serve daily meals Orient new clients to unit and to the guidelines of the facility Perform timely room checks Perform hourly bed checks Maintain an accurate "Shift Log" documenting the day's events Assist in client drug testing and documentation (collection of urine specimens and conducting breathalyzer tests) Perform other duties as assigned Monitor and document unusual client behavior and notify counselors of concerns Transport clients as needed Maintain client charts Account for all client charts on unit Build and break down charts as needed Pick up and distribute client paperwork Attend staffing for unit
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer one-year experience in a mental health setting. Individuals may be required to obtain and maintain a current Oklahoma Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P and S Endorsements with airbrakes.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of the problems of alcoholism/addiction, co-occurring disorders and their effect on the individual and their family; individual and group behavior; the impact on health, economic, and social issues; community resources available to persons experiencing alcohol/drug related problems; and the short and long term effects of alcohol/drug dependency. Skill in interviewing techniques and crisis intervention; establishing and maintaining working relationships with others; and interacting with chemically dependent persons in a way that elicits their confidence, respect, and responsibility. Must have basic computer skills. A valid Oklahoma driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to negotiate stairs and lift up to 50 pounds. Access to
