Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as an Overnight Family Assistant, where your energy and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and children. In this vital role, you will assist/observe clients, working under the direction of the Lead Family Assistant, Admissions Coordinator, Operations Manager and Counselors in a substance use disorder treatment setting. This paid position offers an opportunity to engage in impactful work that promotes well-being, safety, and positive behavioral development. Responsibilities Maintain the safety and security of the clients, program, and building. Conduct fire drills, evacuation procedures, and safety checks as directed or as described in the FA Manual. Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral issues using crisis intervention techniques and conflict management skills Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols, maintaining detailed records of medication administration. Facilitate urinalysis testing for clients as directed. Conduct routine safety checks of the environment, including security protocols such as securing doors and windows Bed checks throughout the night to ensure client safety. Communicate effectively with families, healthcare providers, and team members to coordinate care plans and share relevant updates Assist with light housekeeping duties related to child care and maintain a clean, safe living space during overnight hours Attend staff meetings as scheduled. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs on a consistent basis and go up and down stairs several times per shift. Qualifications Proven supervising experience in childcare or behavioral health settings with a focus on crisis intervention and conflict management Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members Knowledge of child development principles and behavior management techniques Experience with home & community care services or social work is preferred Ability to handle emergency situations calmly using first aid skills when necessary Familiarity with data entry, filing, data collection, and medication administration procedures Certification in first aid or CPR is Required.
