05/27/2026 Behavior Support Assistant - Days Creek School District Days Creek School District seeks qualified applicants for the position of Behavior Support Assistant. This position is 169 days per year, 8 hours per day, 4 days per week to begin in the 2026-27 school year.

PAY RATE
$18.05 - $21.47 per hour (Depending on relevant and verifiable experience)
JOB SUMMARY
This position assists the principal and school staff in supporting student efforts to manage behavioral and social emotional needs by implementing and supporting behavior management programs. Staff in this classification will utilize behavior management strategies and provide students with skill-building experiences. This position also includes supporting students in the areas of communication and language development, social skill development and positive behavior support, as well as supporting academic programming and functional skills. The core function is to implement evidence-based practices that will help students attain developmentally appropriate behavioral and social emotional skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
' High school diploma or equivalent required. ' Experience (or comparable experience) working as instructional assistant preferred. DUTIES This not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job. Full job description attached in Applicant Tracking. ' Implement behavior support plans (BSPs) or other protocols with students who have special needs under the direction of a counselor or learning specialist. ' Maintain a calm collected demeanor with students who may be escalated. ' Assists district behavior specialist and/or building administrator with data collecting, writing behavioral support plans and evaluating their efficacy. ' Implements behavioral strategies as an intervention tool prior to developing a Behavioral Support Plan for an identified student. ' Assists instructional staff in the supervision of students while they are in the school environment. ' De-escalate students and provide targeted self-regulation supports for recovery to baseline. ' Collect data as directed. ' Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding students in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws. ' Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other employees. ' May be required to restrain students after proper training and under direction of licensed staff. ' Correspond with district staff and stakeholders via email. ' Assists, as needed, in accompanying teachers and identified students on field trips and community-based training. ' Performs other duties consistent with the position. ' Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes; including computers and helping student master the use of that equipment. ' Attend trainings as directed. ' Participates in staffing or parent meetings as directed. ' Maintain regular on-time attendance. ' Other duties as assigned.
