Job Summary:
Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health The Behavioral Health Medical Assistant promotes a strong belief in our philosophy, purpose, and ideals. Medical Assistants perform delegated routine clinical duties within the supervising practitioner's scope of practice; assist healthcare provider in the delivery of patient care in the clinic setting; to interact with patients, both in person and by phone; to provide outstanding customer service to patients, families, and co-workers; and to perform related duties as assigned.
Salary Range:
$18.00 To $25.00
Hourly Qualifications:
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant in Behavioral Health setting, CCMA preferred.
  • Experience working in EPIC medical record preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling and receiving patients.
  • Preparing and maintaining medical records.
  • Handling telephone calls and writing correspondence.
  • Serving as a liaison between the Provider and patients.
  • Asepsis and infection control.
  • Taking patient histories and vital signs.
  • Performing first aid and CPR.
  • Preparing patients for procedures
  • Assisting the provider with examinations and treatments
  • Collecting and processing specimens.
  • Performing selected diagnostic tests.
  • Preparing and administering medications as directed by the provider.
  • Maintenance of equipment and supplies for the clinic.
  • Promote a Culture of Safety, reporting hazards, errors and potential patient safety issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
