The EES Behavioral Consultant is responsible for providing support for all school personnel, daily behavior programming, and overall implementation of the behavioral plan for each child within CGRC's Elementary Education Services Program.
Some responsibilities include:
Provide initial and ongoing assessment of students, supporting students through formal observations, data collection, one-to-one interactions and trial interventions, and engagement to develop a therapeutic relationship and behavior planning. Design, direct, and coordinate, the delivery of program related services to classroom behavior plans and conflict management. Provide expertise and leadership in developing and maintaining innovative and effective delivery of program services. Intervene to provide immediate assistance in crisis situations, including the use of Personal Emergency Interventions. Regularly review IEPs, behavior plans, case histories, and past treatment documentation as a method of developing effective treatment measures and understanding past clinical approaches. Attend IEP meetings to discuss behavioral concerns, interventions, and support as needed. Track and analyze data within the program to better develop the most effective interventions to meet behavior IEP goals. Provide consistent communication and feedback to the family and other team members on student's progress. Supervise the self-administration of student medication. Ascertain through questions that students understand his/her prescribed medication - dose, side effects, etc., as guided by a registered nurse. Conduct assessment of strengths and therapeutic needs of individual students. Actively utilize EHR (Electronic Health Record) to access information in all departments for which assigned students have services. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings relating to an individual child, including case review meetings to access, provide, or coordinate mental health and education services for the student. Provide support to classrooms and EES teams as needed throughout the school day.
