Purpose of this
Position :
Helping Overcome Psychosis Early Program Children's Service Center is currently looking for an energetic and dependable person who has lived the experience of mental health and can comfortably share their mental health experience when appropriate with participants of the HOPE program. Candidates should work well independently and collectively as a treatment team member with a recovery-oriented focus. If you are ambitious and confident in your ability to learn from others, the Certified Peer Specialist (HOPE program) position is right for you. You will work with clients who are between the ages of 15 and 25 to help develop strategies needed to enhance Independent Living Competencies such as Social Skills, Personal Adjustment, Vocational Skills and Educational Skills. Join our treatment team to experience the positivity of helping young adults and adolescents live healthy lives. You will be fully trained in daily activities to fulfil client's needs. This position is for Wayne/Pike counties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting participant with daily coping skills Ability to use good judgment skills in assessing consumer needs Knowledge of the mental health and social services field to help support participants with mental health challenges Providing strategies to help manage life challenges Knowledge of community resources and helping guide participants through these resources Children's Service Center/Robinson Counseling Center for adults creates a positive working culture of Care and Commitment for employees which extends to the children & families we serve. Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) Certification; training can be provided Personal Lived Mental Health experience History of volunteer work and/or employment for at least one year Experience in working with children/adolescents and their families is preferred, but not required Other qualifications necessary: Organizational skills Office management responsibilities skills Experience with Microsoft Office
