Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support student success by making a meaningful impact in educational settings near Mechanicsburg, PA! Contract opportunities are currently available for skilled professionals committed to fostering inclusive learning environments. These full-time roles (35 hours per week, 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, spanning 8/24/26 to 6/10/27) offer rewarding experiences in direct student support for the 26/27 school year.
Key Opportunities:
1:1 Personal Care Assistant position for a 9th grade female student. Two autism support paraprofessional roles, assisting students from Kindergarten through third grade. With three positions initially open and one already filled, two placements remain available. The director is scheduling interviews immediately for qualified candidates.
What We're Looking For:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Personal Care Assistant, ideally in a school setting. Familiarity with autism support or individualized education plans preferred. Compassion, patience, and understanding of student needs. Ability to communicate effectively with students, educators, and families. Comfortable working 1:1 as well as in small groups within classroom settings. Reliability and commitment to a full academic-year assignment. Relevant clearances required prior to start (assistance provided as needed).
Role Highlights:
Provide consistent, individualized support for students to promote engagement, independence, and academic growth. Assist with personal care, behavioral support, and learning activities, adjusting strategies based on each child's needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to implement personalized plans for success. Monitor and document student progress, providing timely feedback to the educational team. Foster a welcoming, supportive classroom atmosphere.
