Richmond, VA Job Details Part-time | Contract $45 - $55 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications Applied behavior analysis Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) to join our clinical team as an Initial Assessment Specialist. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on conducting initial behavioral assessments and intake evaluations for individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. This role involves collaborating with families, caregivers, and clinical staff to gather information, assess client needs, and support the development of appropriate treatment recommendations using evidence-based practices within applied behavior analysis (ABA). This position is assessment-focused and does not require ongoing direct therapy sessions or supervision of daily treatment implementation. Duties Conduct initial behavioral assessments and intake evaluations for children and adults with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Gather and review relevant medical, developmental, educational, and behavioral history during intake appointments. Administer assessment tools and complete clinical interviews with caregivers and clients as appropriate. Collect, analyze, and document assessment data accurately to support clinical recommendations. Prepare detailed assessment reports and treatment recommendations in a timely manner. Collaborate with BCBAs, healthcare providers, educators, and families to ensure comprehensive understanding of client needs. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards. Support diagnostic clarification and service recommendations based on assessment findings. Ensure all assessments and documentation meet ethical, legal, and payer requirements. Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in ABA and behavioral assessment. Skills Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and behavioral assessment practices. Experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Proficiency in conducting intake evaluations, behavioral assessments, and data analysis. Excellent clinical interviewing and observational skills. Strong written communication skills for completing professional assessment reports and documentation. Familiarity with special education and behavioral health systems. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families. Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Compassionate and professional approach to patient care and family interactions.
