Duties Offer peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, addiction issues, or co-occurring disorders through active listening, encouragement, and mentorship Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to promote motivation and goal setting Provide crisis intervention and crisis management during urgent situations, ensuring safety and appropriate follow-up care Educate clients about harm reduction strategies, mental health management, and available community resources Document interactions and progress using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with accuracy and confidentiality Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support for clients Advocate for clients' needs within healthcare systems, social services, and community organizations Qualifications Certified Peer Support Specialist credential required, with lived experience related to mental health or substance use recovery Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health support Knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, addiction counseling, harm reduction strategies, and motivational interviewing Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or mental health conditions preferred Strong mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach to supporting others' recovery journeys Familiarity with social work principles and the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation Excellent communication skills to build trust and foster positive relationships with diverse populations Embark on a rewarding career that champions recovery, resilience, and empowerment.
