Job Description

A premier, growing private practice is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant / Billing Specialist to join our professional and patient-centered team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong healthcare administrative and medical billing expertise, particularly with commercial insurance and VA & MD Medicaid. Key Responsibilities Manage front-office administrative functions and patient communications Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Submit, monitor, and reconcile commercial insurance Medicaid claims for VA, MD, and DC. Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims Process prior authorizations and referrals as needed Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation Coordinate scheduling, intake paperwork, and provider calendars Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations Generate billing reports and assist with revenue cycle management Qualifications Minimum 3 years of healthcare administration and/or medical billing experience Demonstrated expertise with Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC Medicaid billing and commercial insurances Knowledge of Medicaid regulations, claim submission processes, and reimbursement requirements Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare billing software Preferred Qualifications Experience in behavioral health, mental health Experience with EHR Therapy Notes Familiarity with credentialing and provider enrollment processes Certification in medical billing and coding (preferred but not required) If you are a dedicated administrative professional with strong billing expertise and a commitment to excellence, we would love to hear from you.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
