https://bof.fire.ca.gov/board-committees/effectiveness-monitoring-committee The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking to hire a student assistant to work under the supervision and direction of Cal Fire staff. In a learning capacity, the student assistant will be assigned to contribute to the development of meeting agendas and facilitation of meeting arrangements for public meetings, invited speakers, and committee members. The student assistant will also attend virtual or in-person public meetings held in Sacramento. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript) or DMV clearance. Compensation $18.27 to $24.62 per hour. Minimum Qualifications Must complete each term with minimum unit requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate student classifications. Proof will be collected at the end of each Spring and Fall term. Knowledgeable of using Microsoft Office. Ability to attend virtual and in-person public meetings in Sacramento and participate professionally. Ability to prepare meeting minutes and summarize discussions accurately. Strong written communication, organization, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Duties and Responsibilities Contribute to development of meeting agendas and facilitation of meeting arrangements for the public, invited speakers, and committee members. Attend virtual or in-person public meetings in Sacramento (for the Effectiveness Monitoring Committee (EMC

Produce meeting minutes for the RMAC. Work with committee members and Board staff to follow up on meeting action items. Assist committee members and Board staff in planning virtual, hybrid, and in-person workshops for the EMC and RMAC, including contacting potential speakers, assisting with scheduling, developing agendas, creating advertisements. Track the status of EMC project deliverables by regular communication with project Principal Investigators (PIs), and log communications. Produce project status updates for the EMC Annual Report and Workplan. Work with committee members to incorporate revisions to EMC and RMAC committee reports. Draft correspondence to stakeholders for supervisor's review and approval. Supervisor shall transmit all communications to stakeholders. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
