Until the end of the academic year and the first 4 weeks of September Teaching Personnel are recruiting a full-time Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for a primary school in the Caldicot area. The role will involve working closely on a 1:2 basis with two Year 5 pupils who require additional support throughout the school day. The school are looking for someone who is confident, resilient and able to build strong relationships through consistency and patience. To ensure the right fit for the pupils and the classroom environment, the school would ideally like someone with a strong presence, positive energy and a proactive attitude. About the Role
  • Full-time support for two Year 5 pupils
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • Building positive relationships and maintaining clear boundaries
  • Helping pupils remain engaged with learning and classroom routines
  • Supporting emotional regulation during moments of frustration
  • Working closely with teaching staff and following behaviour strategies The pupils may occasionally:
  • Walk out of class when dysregulated
  • Use inappropriate language when frustrated However, the school have confirmed that there has been no history of physical behaviour towards staff . The Ideal Candidate
  • Calm, confident and resilient
  • Able to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff
  • Proactive with a strong "get up and go" attitude
  • Comfortable working in challenging classroom environments
  • Experience with behaviour support, ALN/SEN, youth work, sports coaching or care work is desirable
