This role supports pediatric patients in hospital settings by providing compassionate bedside observation, emotional support, and assistance in maintaining a safe and comforting environment for children and adolescents. This position is ideal for caregivers who enjoy working with pediatric patients and are looking for flexible PRN opportunities. Team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on hospital census and staffing demands. Schedule PRN / Resource Pool Position Hours and shifts vary based on hospital needs Day, evening, overnight, weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts may be available Flexible scheduling opportunities Responsibilities Provide continuous bedside supervision and support for pediatric patients Help create a calm, safe, and comforting environment for children and families Monitor patient activity and immediately report concerns to nursing staff Engage appropriately with pediatric patients through conversation, redirection, and supportive interaction Follow hospital safety protocols, infection control standards, and HIPAA guidelines Document observations and communicate professionally with clinical staff and families Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Experience working with children in healthcare, caregiving, childcare, behavioral health, education, or related settings preferred CNA, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant, or babysitting experience is a plus Ability to remain attentive, patient, and compassionate during extended shifts Current CPR certification preferred Must successfully complete background checks and onboarding requirements Why Join BrightStar Care?
