Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team at the Box Elder Family Support Center as a Crisis Nursery Caregiver, where your compassion and expertise will provide a safe, nurturing environment for children experiencing family crises. In this vital role, you will offer immediate care, emotional support, and developmental activities to children ages 0-11, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Your energetic and positive approach will help create a stable and comforting space for children during challenging times, ensuring their safety and well-being. Crisis Nursery Caregiver position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. Responsibilities 1. Provide attentive, nurturing childcare according to the Box Elder Family Support Center policies and licensing requirements. Ensure the children's basic needs are met through: Preparing and serving nutritious snacks and meals. Direct interaction and close supervision of each child. Planning and implementing individual/group/child activities. Positive behavior management. Age-appropriate needs such as bathing, bedtimes/naptimes, and changing diapers. 2. Warmly greet both parents and children as they arrive, introducing self as if they are new to you. 3. Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation of Crisis Nursery and equipment according to the department of health. 4. Answer and log telephone calls as needed, provide Crisis Nursery scheduling, program information and referrals. 5. Provide crisis referrals to clients in person and on the phone through the Crisis Referral Hotline. 6. Maintain prompt, accurate, and objective documentation of case records. 7. Attend Crisis Nursery and all staff meetings and training. 8. Be available to respond to a crisis call and potential overnight stay should children need to stay overnight. 9. Be available to take shifts monitoring and responding to after-hours crisis calls. 10. Assist in the clean-up and maintenance of the outside yard and play area, as requested. 11. Assist in the set-up/clean-up of parenting education classes or events. 12. Provide support to Center staff utilizing the Center and Crisis Nursery. 13. Perform additional duties as needed and/or requested. 14. Provide staff coverage for vacations, illness, and events along with regular scheduled hours. Be at least 18 years of age 1 year prior experience working with children is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies Certification in first aid and CPR and Food Handler's permit; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities with patience, energy, and professionalism Ability to work as a team member Join us in creating a safe haven where children feel loved, supported, and empowered during difficult times.
