Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist House Manager to lead and support individuals on their recovery journey within a residential behavioral health setting. As a House Manager, you will serve as a role model and advocate, fostering a safe, supportive environment that promotes mental health, addiction recovery, and personal growth. Your expertise in crisis intervention, behavioral health, and peer support will empower residents to achieve stability and independence while ensuring the smooth daily operations of the house. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those overcoming mental health challenges and substance use issues. Responsibilities Provide peer-led support, mentorship, and crisis intervention to residents experiencing behavioral health or addiction-related crises. Manage daily house operations, including coordinating activities, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring adherence to program guidelines. Develop individualized recovery plans in collaboration with residents, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to foster motivation and engagement. Monitor residents' progress, document interactions, and update electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately and confidentially. Facilitate group activities focused on life skills, relapse prevention, and wellness strategies to promote recovery and community building. Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral incidents by implementing crisis management procedures and collaborating with emergency responders when necessary. Mentor residents in developing coping skills, social skills, and healthy habits that support long-term recovery. Requirements Certification as a Peer Support Specialist with experience in behavioral health or mental health counseling. Proven ability in crisis intervention and crisis management within a residential or community setting. Knowledge of behavioral health issues, addiction counseling techniques, and social work principles. Strong skills in motivational interviewing to motivate change and promote engagement in recovery efforts. Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and reporting purposes. Excellent mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges. Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing complex situations involving behavioral health crises.
