Classroom SEL Coach /
Behavior InterventionistQualifications:
Bachelors degree and experience in education, social services, counseling, psychology, behavior support, or a related field preferred. Preferred candidates will have knowledge of social-emotional learning, executive functioning, trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, de-escalation strategies, and experience supporting students who demonstrate challenging behaviors.

The Classroom SEL Coach / Behavior Interventionist will support students in grades 4 through 6 by being present in classrooms, at recess, and during lunch to provide in-the-moment support, coaching, and intervention. This position will help students strengthen social-emotional skills, executive functioning, self-regulation, peer relationships, and positive participation across the school day.

This role is designed to be proactive and responsive. The Classroom SEL Coach / Behavior Interventionist will work alongside classroom teachers and school staff to support students as challenges arise, help them regulate, problem-solve, repair relationships, and successfully return to learning or group activities.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct, in-the-moment SEL and behavior support to students in grades 4 through 6 in classrooms, at recess, during lunch, and during transitions.

Be present in classroom settings to support students before, during, and after moments of dysregulation, conflict, or behavioral difficulty.

Support students during less structured times, including recess and lunch, by helping with peer interactions, conflict resolution, regulation, and safe participation.

Assist students with resets by supporting regulation, reflection, problem-solving, and successful re-entry into the classroom or activity.

Work alongside classroom teachers, recess staff, lunch staff, and school teams to provide consistent expectations, language, and responses across settings.

Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, or EST meetings as needed, including supporting the development of goals, benchmarks, strategies, and progress-monitoring systems.

Support restorative conversations, peer problem solving, and repair work following conflict or behavioral incidents.

Demonstrate urgency and care in addressing SEL and behavioral needs at both the individual student and classroom level.

Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and strong communication with staff, students, families, and school leadership.

Hourly Rate of Pay:
$24.80 - $28.65
