NKHS is a 501(c)(3) private not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a high-quality, comprehensive community mental health system in Vermonts beautiful Northeast Kingdom.

Our mission is to enrich communities and enhance the ability of individuals and families to improve their lives. As a Designated Agency for the State of Vermont, NKHS provides essential services to children, youth, families, and adults across Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. Through a wide variety of programs, our team supports nearly 4,000 individuals each year in achieving health in mind, body, and spirit.

Social Skills InterventionistNKHS is seeking a Social Skills Interventionist (SSI) to join our School Based Services Collaborative Program within Caledonia North Supervisory Union Schools. In this role, you will provide direct, individualized support to children and youth with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a school setting.

As an SSI, you will work closely with educators, clinicians, and families to help students build social skills, improve emotional regulation, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide direct support to students focused on social skills development, self-regulation, and daily functioningImplement individualized treatment and positive behavior support plansFollow crisis prevention and de-escalation protocolsCollect and maintain accurate, timely behavioral data and documentationCollaborate with school teams, supervisors, and treatment providersAttend team meetings, supervision, and required trainingsSupport students in both school and community settingsProvide transportation using your personal vehicle as needed
Position Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Services, Education, Psychology, or related field preferredCandidates working toward a degree will be considered (must complete within one year of hire)Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
Requirements:
Valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, and required auto insurance ($100,000/$300,000)Ability to pass all required background checksAbility to support student safety, including physical intervention when necessaryAbility to work in school and community-based environments
Salary & BenefitsPay Range:
