$23.96-$26.96/Hour
Required Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED; You must upload a copy of your HS diploma or GED Meet ESEA Para-professional Qualifications (72 Quarter Credits from an Accredited College/University or passing the ETS Test)
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and Clarkston School District standards. Ability to apply general guidelines to a wide variety of situations with several variables Think quickly to address situations Attention to detail is essential Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as described in the essential functions section Technology (Computer/Telephone/Fax) Complete annual Safe Schools training Basic math, simple fractions such as measurements, ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division without using a calculator. Ability to give and receive written and spoken instructions Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to speak to small groups Ability to complete reports and correspondence
Responsibilities:
Follow district policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal statutes relevant to a public-school environment Follow building emergency procedures Complete appropriate reports/documentation as applicable Exhibit ethical behavior at all times Follow confidentiality procedures Maintain a clean workspace Prep daily materials/equipment (classroom/playground/patrol) Prep A/V and Tech equipment Set up and take down classroom Perform duties with a high degree of courtesy and respect Will have occasional evening hours during school functions as assigned Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator/supervisor Monitor and provide positive discipline as necessary: Follow school wide discipline plan Document student behavior as appropriate Assist school staff with the overall management of the building Be consistent, fair and positive in all interactions Escort students as appropriate (behavior room/office/buses/other school areas) Maintain positive communication among students, school and staff Send students to class Consult with principals, counselors, parents and teachers as needed Attend meetings (parent/IEP/Child Study/other) Provide factual information to parents Supervise playground Assist with student placement Assist with the instruction of personal hygiene Educate students about personal hygiene Change soiled clothes when necessary Make referrals as appropriate (CST/Counselor/office/outside agencies) Provide assistance with all instructional activities, games, etc. Meet with students on behavior issues Reviewing videos Implement Bully School curriculum Train student mediators Teach student's appropriate ISS behavior/skills as needed Train safety patrol members Support instructional programs and activities Supervise students in non-academic situations Supervise before school program Monitor recess and lunchroom Supervise bus lines Supervise In School Suspension Students Administer detention/after school academy Monitor time out Develop safety patrol schedule Participate on building Crisis Team Substitute when needed for recess duty Monitor and provide documentation Check and maintain data/referrals for discipline reports Fill out reminders for "In for" Recess Maintain mediation forms/refocus/reminders/problem solving plans Send BECCA notices to parents/other school sites Create, distribute, and collect permission slips Continue job performance enhancement through professional development Participate in appropriate in-service programs/educational opportunities Read and study new or updated job-related resources Requirements by Percentage of the Workday Physical Environmental Requirements 0-10% 10-25% 25-50% 50-75% 75-100% Exposure 0-10% 10-25% 25-50% 50-75% Lifting X Hot X Standing X Humid X Walking X Cold X Running X Wet/Damp X Bending/ Crouching X Machinery• X Kneeling/ Crawling X Risk of burns/chemical exposure X Outside elements (sun, rain, etc.) X Loud (above normal class level) X Lifting weight 0-10% 10-25% 25-50% 50-75% 75-100% • Machinery Less than 10# X Copy machine X 10-25# X Die cut X 25-50# X Laminator X 50-75# X Computer X 75+# X
