Purpose As a Medical Assistant You are an integral part of the BestMind team assisting in patient behavioral healthcare management. The behavioral health Medical Assistant is an empathic individual with competent observational, clinical, critical thinking, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills in order to meet patient needs and contribute to a positive patient care experience and work environment. The Medical Assistant is responsible for routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. Responsibilities Properly setup rooms for office visits and/or procedures Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the provider Document as appropriate; vitals, screening, patient history and personal information while completing all compliance regulatory documentation Assist the provider in completing charting as directed Assist with prior authorizations and medication refills Assist the provider in completing examinations and procedures as instructed Order labs and in-office diagnostic testing when necessary Explain treatment procedures, medications and providers' instructions to patients Maintain orderly and sanitized exam rooms and workspace Stock supplies and complete order forms when necessary Triage clinical phone calls and patient requests Retrieve and respond to requests received through voicemails Behavioral Health/TMS/Esketamine experience is preferred but we are also willing to train.
