Job Description

DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits. The Health Room Assistant is a school year only position . This position assists in meeting the health needs of students according to district policies and school procedures under the guidance and direction of the School Nurse and the building principal. Wage will be based on certification.
Duties include:
administer first aid, medication, and specialized treatments to students; communicate with parent/guardian when indicated regarding illness/injury of students; prepare and/or maintains documentation and reports; perform designated clerical duties associated with maintaining health room records and daily logs of students; assist with maintenance of order and discipline and a sanitary and safe environment in the health room; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN licensure (preferred) in the State of Wisconsin; CPR certification; strong computer knowledge and skills; accurate record keeping skills; the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and other staff. Previous experience working with children in a medical setting preferred. A valid Driver's License is required.
