In this position, the Rehab Day Treatment Behavioral Health Technician cares for clients in a group home setting, working with individuals on basic living skills, social, and financial skills and treatment direction/follow through all while being a key support staff to our therapeutic team. Our Behavioral Health Technicians will learn proper documentation techniques and other state and federal standards followed by the Department of Mental Health (ADMH). This is an full-time, hourly position that works Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
What you will be doing:
Regularly implement basic living skills training objectives and document progress in the Electronic Health Record. Provide job-readiness training to help clients identify strengths and career goals and provide guidance on job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation. Help to coordinate resident activities in the home and in the community. Regularly complete documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports as required by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). Regularly encourage and assist residents in the preparation of nutritious meals per the posted menus and completes meal preparations if residents cannot. May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs. and push/pull or transport client and equipment. Ensure residents comply with home rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include the performance of housekeeping, assist clients when necessary. Demonstrate good safety skills, including fire drills, emergency procedures, and back safety techniques. Promote a positive work environment, including positive relationships with supervisors, residents, and their families and co-workers. Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings, and training courses as required and remain current on all certifications required for employment. Work as scheduled; complete and submit time sheets and leave requests per policy. Complete other duties as assigned.
