Job Description

Job Summary Cornerstone Therapeutic Community provides high-quality mental health services in a structured, supportive residential environment. We are committed to helping individuals achieve stability and independence through compassionate, evidence-based care. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and support to individuals receiving mental health and/or substance use treatment services. This role assists clinical staff in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting people with daily activities, monitoring behaviors, and implementing treatment plans. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with group activities and therapy sessions
  • Support medication management
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant records
  • Monitor vital signs
  • Assist with crisis intervention
  • Provide direct supervision and monitoring of patients to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Observe, document, and report patient behavior and mood.
  • Assist in implementation of treatment plans.
  • Facilitate or assist with activities and therapeutic groups.
  • Maintain a structured and supportive environment.
  • Perform safety checks and monitor for contraband.
  • Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
  • Support medication observation as applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance. Education and Qualifications Required
  • 1+ year mental health experience
  • Adult CPR/First Aid certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Medic)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening Medication technician experience, preferred
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
