Job Description

Warren Oil Company, LLC, a leading automotive lubricant manufacturing company, has an immediate need for an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician for our West Memphis, AR facility. We are looking for a driven individual with a strong environmental background and a track record in employee safety and health.
EHS Technician description:
The EHS Technician is a hands-on position responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by identifying, communicating, and mitigating hazards. The EHS Technician must ensure compliance to OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulations. The EHS Technician will be a key contributor for the support of safety initiatives and environmental compliance that foster continuous improvement throughout the plants.
EHS Technician responsibilities:
Conduct inspections to ensure that all equipment and processes meet business and regulatory requirements, such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire suppression systems, oil/water separators, eye wash / shower stations, etc. Perform spill clean-up and clean / maintain environmental equipment including oil/water separators, pumps, pits, etc. Install, calibrate, and maintain scientific equipment to sample and monitor quality of the air, water, and other details of the workplace environment Record / capture and maintain data logs and other records / information files for regulatory purposes and provide reports based on data Investigate accidents and incidents as to cause and actions to be taken to prevent re-occurrence Work with managers and engineers to re-evaluate and recommend equipment changes to ensure a safer environment when needed and/or assist in the development of new equipment installation Focus on continuous improvement; active and visible prevention programs; and fostering a culture of open communication Conduct emergency and contingency planning, safety training, industrial hygiene applications and exposure monitoring and planning, internal compliance auditing, plus address any regulatory compliance issues or outside inspection proceedings. Working knowledge of environmental sampling, data collection and analysis procedures, instrument calibration, and safety and environmental regulations Follow procedures to monitor health and safety, such as ergonomics, air quality, waste water, and waste disposal Know, apply, and document OSHA, EPA, and other federal and state regulations and identify problems and suggest remedies Train and monitor personnel in safe work procedures Develop and disseminate manuals and documentation around health and safety Schedule and work with outside contractors who provide environmental, health, and safety support Safely operate and maintain vacuum truck to transfer wastewater EHS Technician qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred, especially in the fields of occupational safetyhealth, environmental, or chemistry 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA general industry training and/or 40-hour
OSHA HAZWOPER
training is a plus 3 to 5 years of experience in EHS or related role Prior supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of all relevant laws and regulations, including
OSHA, EPA, US
Coast Guard Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, etc. is a plus Ability to multitask while being able to produce accurate and professional work Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet) Ability to obtain TWIC card Limited travel required EHS Technician physical requirements: Frequent bending, reaching, lifting Occasional lifting of heavy objects Occasional work in tight or confined spaces Frequent climbing of stairs/ladders Standing or walking for extended periods of time Frequent working in extreme temperatures, wet, and/or oily indoor and outdoor environments while wearing personal protective equipment, such as respirators, earplugs, safety-toed shoes, goggles, etc.
