Afterschool Recreation Program Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for Youth.

Many times, kids with Behavioral Health needs do not get the opportunity to participate successfully in after school recreational programs. STBHS fills that gap by having BHT's work with youth during these incredible programs (karate, boxing dance, art, animal based program, and basketball), giving them the chance to succeed, learn new life skills, and build confidence. As a behavioral health technician with the therapeutic recreational program you will be part of a collaborative team that provide services during therapeutic activities for youth throughout the East Valley. The Therapeutic Recreational Program (TRP) is designed to:

• utilize sports along with evidenced based lessons as tools to help client's meet treatment goals. BHT's provide transportation to and from all therapeutic recreational programs (in a company vehicle)
• communicate with client's families and case managers as part of the child and family team and to encourage strong therapeutic relationships.
• teach life skills and utilize behavior modification during programs for youth. Meals are provided for employees working 10 hour shifts with the clients.
• Programs include therapeutic dance, Therapeutic Art, martial arts, boxing, animal based program, and basketball.

Experience providing behavior modification to youth with mental health diagnosis preferred. Experience driving large vehicles or 15 passenger vans is also preferred.

Schedule:

4, 10-hour shifts. Choose three days, Monday-Friday, 11am

• 9pm. Fourth shift on Saturday 7am-5pm. OT shifts currently available. Clinical Supervisions are mandatory every other Wednesday from 11:30am
• 1:00 pm and may be attended via Zoom.

Supervision is conducted by a Arizona Licensed Behavioral Health Professional. The position requires regular driving, so it works best for someone comfortable spending a good amount of time behind the wheel . The company pays for the employee's meal during the shift! A bachelors degree in a behavioral science or four years of behavioral health experience preferred. Experience providing behavior modification to youth with mental health diagnosis preferred.
