Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have experience working with individuals with diverse behavioral health needs, including developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, and addiction. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct support, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring behavioral health services. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care by assisting with daily activities, behavior management, and implementing therapeutic interventions based on individualized treatment plans. Monitor and record vital signs, medical documentation, and behavioral data accurately while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support clients during crisis situations through effective crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to ensure safety for all parties involved. Assist in conducting intake assessments and collecting comprehensive data to inform treatment strategies. Administer medications as prescribed, adhering strictly to medical terminology protocols and medication administration procedures. Collaborate with social workers, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify behavior management strategies tailored to each client's needs. Engage in applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques for clients with autism or developmental disabilities to promote skill development and positive behaviors. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient progress while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Support clients with special education needs and provide guidance aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs). Contribute to a positive team environment by participating in ongoing training related to trauma-informed care, PTSD support, addiction counseling, and disability services. Requirements Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other behavioral health conditions. Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies, crisis management, behavior management techniques, and trauma-informed care practices. Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration procedures, and medical documentation standards. Experience working within special education settings or providing patient care in behavioral health environments is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members from diverse backgrounds. Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally while maintaining composure under pressure. Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred; ongoing training in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or addiction counseling is advantageous.
