Working as the BHT, you will be responsible for all components of our transportation operations at our Rehabilitation Clinic and Behavioral Health Residential Facilities (BHRF). This includes coordinating transportation logistics, travel logs, schedules, vehicle maintenance, and heavily liaising with clients, vendors, and staff.
Behavioral Health Transportation Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serving as the main point of contact for all transportation needs and requests.
- Ensuring continuous flow of communication with leadership, staff, and clients regarding scheduling progress and to receive instructions.
- Maintaining an organized travel schedule; picking up clients at scheduled locations and times and driving them to appropriate destinations.
- Recognizing diversity of the population and treating all fairly, kindly, and professionally.
- Maintaining positive client relationships and addressing problems and concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
- Assisting in de-escalation and stabilization of clients in critical situations.
- Transporting clients safely in accordance with traffic laws and posted speed limits.
- Performing basic vehicle maintenance, including refueling, and reporting serious problems as soon as possible.
- Scheduling service appointments as needed for vehicle repairs.
- Tracking and submitting mileage records, vehicle maintenance logs, and transportation logs.
- Completing daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. This includes vacuuming, washing both the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
- Utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal and efficient route.
- Developing recommendations for process improvements, outlining present challenges and how improvements can bolster our operational strengths.
- Ensuring licensure, certifications, and trainings remain current and valid.
- Performing other tasks that may be as assigned as needed.
Behavioral Health Transportation Coordinator Qualifications and Requirements:
- Exceptional organizational skills, multitasking ability, and communication skills.
- One-year behavioral health, healthcare, or transportation is preferred.
- Must be physically able to step up and down steps
- Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background Check
- Valid Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent
