  • Part-time, Full-time, Contract Job Overview Costa Mesa Detox is seeking a motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to provide essential support to individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
If you have experience in the substance abuse field or are eager to grow in this area, we want you to be part of our dedicated team. We are currently hiring for all shifts. Duties Provide guidance, supervision, and support to clients, ensuring safety and well-being. Conduct regular house checks, fire drills, and disaster drills in accordance with policy. Monitor clients' progress and behavior, documenting and communicating updates to clinical and other staff. Ensure clients adhere to program rules and maintain cleanliness within the home. Assist in intake and discharge processes, following all procedures. Administer and oversee medication distribution and ensure compliance. Transport clients to appointments as needed, and conduct BAC and UA drug screenings when directed. Report and document any incidents, communicate all issues to the next shift, and uphold strong client boundaries. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all laws protecting client privacy.
Experience:
1 year working with the substance abuse population and familiarity with the 12-step model. Minimum of one year of sobriety if in recovery. Qualifications Applied behavior analysis Patient care experience Knowledge of HIPAA regulations Proficiency in medical documentation and terminology Experience with intake procedures Ability to work with individuals with behavioral health needs Ability to manage crisis situations Understanding of PTSD care
