  • $61 Schedule & Shift Differential Sunday shifts (day or night) are Mandatory for Part Time and strongly preferred for Per Diem Additional shifts available Monday-Saturday Night differential: 7:00 PM

  • $4/hour Weekend differential: Saturday & Sunday

Indio Crisis Walk-in Center WEA's Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC), located on the behavioral health campus of Riverside University Health System in Indio, CA, offers 24/7 walk-in, voluntary crisis services for adults and children ages 5 and older. Designed to provide immediate, accessible care, the center serves up to 20 patients at a time, including both youth and adults. Position Summary The LPT is a key member of the care team, providing direct patient support, observation, and therapeutic engagement to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises. Working closely with RNs, providers, and behavioral health staff, the LPT supports emotional regulation, safety, and stabilization in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Support & Observation:
Provide continuous support, monitor patient safety, and complete behavioral observations and vital signs
Crisis Stabilization & De-escalation:
Assist with emotional regulation, de-escalation, and behavior management using trauma-informed approaches
Medication Support:
Administer medications within scope and monitor for response, side effects, and changes in condition
Milieu & Safety Management:
Maintain a safe, structured environment; complete safety checks and support crisis interventions
Team Collaboration & Care Coordination:
Communicate patient status, participate in team huddles, and support transitions of care
Documentation:
Complete timely, accurate documentation of observations, interventions, and medications
Requirements:
Required Qualifications Active California LPT license Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or related settings Strong observation, de-escalation, and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Availability for required Sunday shifts Preferred Qualifications Experience in crisis, inpatient psych, ED, or community behavioral health Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders CPI, MAB, SAMA, or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience working with youth and families Bilingual (Spanish preferred) Physical Demands & Work Environment The LPT must be able to: Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods in a behavioral health care setting Participate in de-escalation and safety interventions (as trained and appropriate) Lift up to 25 pounds and assist with patient movement as needed Work in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of behavioral and emotional intensity Maintain focus and effectiveness during high-pressure situations Why Join WEA Flexible per diem scheduling with premium shifts available Opportunity to work in a new, innovative crisis center Collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment Mission-driven work serving high-need communities
