POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Technician position aims to develop a strong patient-focused perspective to support patients in their goal of living a substance-free life. This position is essential in the assurance of the admitting process, orientation to new clients, and overall client management. Works cooperatively as a recovery team member. In addition to the duties identified below, this position performs general office/department support functions and assists personnel as necessary. Duties may change to meet clients' needs. The Admissions Technician will monitor clients, transport them for treatment, communicate and document all occurrences, and help to provide a safe, caring environment in which clients can recover. Requires maintaining a positive, productive attitude, even when clients may be argumentative or non-compliant. HOURS Based on operational needs.
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES 1.
Conduct UA drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures, and complete annual waived testing requirement for UA drug screen. 2. Conduct body and property searches of patients in accordance with the search policy and procedure. 3. Assist in daily cleanliness of the unit by overseeing and ensuring patients clean up after themselves (i.e., after meals, group rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms). 4. Encourage patient engagement and self-management to promote wellness and recovery. 5. Attend assigned trainings, required staff meetings, and be responsible for continuing education and professional development as part of a commitment to provide quality services. 6. Communicate effectively with staff members regarding patient behavior, progress, activities, etc. 7. Conduct self in a professional manner in areas of dress, language, attitude, and behavior. 8. Demonstrate consistency by supporting patients during ordinary and extraordinary times. 9. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and procedures and Federal laws. 10.Assist patients in combatting negative self-talk, overcoming fears, and learning how to problem solve. 11.Act as a role model for wellness and recovery and provide mutual and respectful peer support. 12.Understand and abide by code of ethics and patient rights. 13. Assist completing of patient status' into Reception Log for admissions/discharges as assigned. 14.Assist in the delivery of assigned groups and participate in structured activities. If needed. 15.Perform administrative duties such as filing, copying, answering phones, etc. If needed. 16.Provide support in a professional, courteous, confidential, and timely manner to other employees or any other individual requiring assistance related to the essential functions of this position. 17.Maintain the confidentiality of residents, employees, and the organization. 18.Maintain professional relationships and observe appropriate boundaries and limits with clients. 19.Assist with Driving clients to and from locations. 20.Have good communication skills. 21.Performs other duties as assigned by Director and/or Administration.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
None.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare environment
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, as determined by TTC's insurance carrier
  • Knowledge of Windows, email, Microsoft Word, timekeeping software, and basic computer navigational skills
  • Ability to write professional correspondence and reports free from grammatical and spelling mistakes
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret emails, letters, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Maintains current CPR and First Aid training.
