Job Description

FT/Part-Time Residential Technician Direct Care Staff Hourly Pay every two weeks (1st and the 16th) Qualifications At least 18 years of age; Required Health Screening, TB clearance, Criminal Record Background check, Must have a VALID CDL, First Aid Certificate (First Aid can be paid by program) . Have a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, working in a program serving persons with mental disabilities. Such experience must be in the direct provision of services to clients. If the employee does not have the required experience, the program shall document a specific plan of supervision and in-service training for the employee which will guarantee the ongoing qualification of the employee to perform the job.
THIS POSITION FOLLOWS THE 80/20
Rule 80% Resident Engagement 20% Documentation Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor Residents to ensure a safe, quiet and friendly atmosphere is maintained in compliance with house rules and regulations
  • Facility is kept clean and orderly with assistance of residents
  • Demonstrate and provide information for problem solving involving daily operations giving specific attention to house chore assignments, transportation, resident appointments, treatment functions and coordination of care
  • Coordinate between facility staff and Residents to maintain records in a proper and timely manner (group notes)
  • Responsible for the oversight, health, safety and welfare of each resident
  • Assist management and other staff members in preparation and implementation of in-house and around property protocols and licensing requirements and safety manuals
  • Recognition of facility Resident under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
  • Report and handle any crisis or life threatening emergency; properly report all emergency situations to management immediately
  • Responsible of recognition of any ill Residents who may need assistance
  • Model appropriate behavior at all times, refrain from inappropriate language and judgement of others, use positive reinforcement and behavioral modification
  • Provide direct care services and support to Residents and assist with basic daily needs such as: a.
Daily meal prep, breakfast and dinner b. Assist client with daily cooking, cleaning duties and chores c. Knowledge of basic food preparation d. Knowledge of food safety, proper storage and sanitary clean up e. Ability to maintain a food handlers' card (provided by program) f. Solid understanding of housekeeping and sanitary principles g. Assist with proper hygiene and self-care h. Knowledge of universal precautions and proper cleaning of bodily fluids i. Redirect any behaviors and/or verbal interventions when applicable j. Promote Residents complying with program rules and regulations at all times k. Implement day-to-day structure and program continuity l. in client self-medication and properly document medications intake m. Provide staff with proper shift change reports, progress notes (MAR), incident reports, medication logs, maintenance requests and reports for SRF oversite n. Strong detail to clinical documentation o. Engage in regular Licensing and program inspections p. Attend all trainings required by program (Relias) q. Provide oversight and maintain safety and security for all facility residents and facility premises r. Provide drug screen analysis as needed s. Demonstrated leadership ability t. Critical thinking skills and ability to make solid decisions u. Ability to exercise independent judgment at own discretion v. Strong communication skills w. "Above and Beyond, Always" attitude x. Strong ability to motivate and mentor others y. Strong personal and professional boundaries z. Strong computer skills, comfortable with HIPPA, Title 22, Title 9 and 42 CFR Laws and shall strictly adhere to Amethysts Behavioral Health, LLC's P&P's. Line of Supervision
