JOB SUMMARY
Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for the shift by shift supervision of the resident milieu and attending to the resident's essential needs while on detoxification, residential or Outpatient status. This position reports directly to the Operations Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The House Technician's duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: 1. Hold and maintain the safety and well-being of the residents as the number one priority. 2. Monitor, educate and assist residents in performance of activities of daily living in accordance with goals and problem areas identified on individual treatment plan. 3. Accurately account for the whereabouts of each resident by conducting and documenting facility whereabouts. 4. Read Staff Communication Log and incident reports, as well as communicate with prior shift staff within the first 30 minutes of shift. 5. Conduct Urine Analysis (UA)/drug testing, upon request. 6. Participate in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in areas related to the focus of the residential program. 7. Attend meetings as appropriate and meet regularly with supervisor and peers to exchange pertinent information and to receive supervision. 8. Maintain resident and program records in First Horizons electronic record system in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. 9. Interact appropriately with all visitors, family members, and care providers of residents. Ensure that all visitors are appropriate for visitation and sign in/out of the respective residence. 10. Carry out responsibilities pertaining to the efficient and therapeutic operation of the facility, including all events, activities and outings, utilizing safety management, emergency procedures and non-violent crisis intervention. 11. Monitor resident self-administration of medication and document appropriately. 12. Assist with inventory and general maintenance of supplies, facilities and equipment. 13. Perform cleaning duties ensuring the residence is kept tidy at all times. 14. Interact with residents in a confidential, therapeutic, and responsible manner maintaining a high level of ethical conduct. 15. Manage crisis and emergency situations involving residents. 16. Transport residents to and from appointments, groups and other activities. Accompany residents when they are transported to seek emergency treatment relative to their physical or mental health when necessary. 17. Secure and house or office keys at all times. 18. Conduct resident intakes and/or releases, as deemed necessary. 19. Completes daily logs and appropriate documentation. 20. Inventories, packs, and stores property of any residents who leaves the program in accordance with program procedures. 21. Conducts room searches as scheduled or at the discretion of the staff. 22. Allows residents to use the staff phone on an emergency basis. Staff must dial the number and remain with the resident during the duration of the call. 23. Remains at his/her facility until relieved by another staff member, and if required to work additional hours, will notify the Director of Operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Maintain a valid Driver's License Maintain current RADT Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. One year of experience in human services setting: strong professional references attesting to a high degree of customer service, punctuality, and professionalism. Ability to follow instruction clearly and precisely while experiencing multiple competing demands for employee time.

$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
