In this vital role, you will provide direct psychiatric care and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and progress. Your expertise will help create a therapeutic environment where patients feel valued and understood. Responsibilities Monitor and observe patients closely to assess their mental state, behavior, and overall well-being, documenting changes accurately in medical records. Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of psychiatrists or nursing staff, including medication administration following proper protocols. Conduct crisis intervention when patients exhibit acute distress or behavioral emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques to ensure safety for all. Support patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, medication management, and participation in therapeutic programs. Maintain a safe environment by managing behavioral issues through behavior management strategies and patient observation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, communicate observations, and contribute to treatment planning. Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and hospital policies while documenting patient interactions thoroughly. Experience Proven experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health settings, preferably within hospitals or correctional facility medical clinics. Strong knowledge of psychiatry principles, crisis intervention techniques, and acute care procedures. Hands-on experience with patient observation, behavior management, and psychiatric care practices. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and patient monitoring systems. Prior nursing or correctional healthcare experience is highly desirable to excel in this role. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions in high-pressure environments. Certification as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician is required to ensure compliance with licensing standards.
