Apply today! The Acute Care Float Pool is a Unit without Walls at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital! Float Pool Techs seamlessly integrate with teams across various units, adopting the unique culture of each one to provide top-quality patient care. Some units within the Float Pool include NICU, Pediatric Medicine, Hematology-Oncology, Surgical/Neuroscience, and many more!
Position Summary:
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for primarily serving as a one-to-one observer for assigned patients while securing and maintaining a safe environment for the patient under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). When not assigned to the observer role Patient Care Technician duties may be delegated to the MHT. This position reports to the Workforce Management Manager.
Education/Experince:
A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement One year work experience with children and adolescents seeking psychiatric treatment preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Medical Assistant (MA) certification, or one of the following: A nursing student or LPN who has completed fundamental nursing skills coursework An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
Other Qualifications:
Complete hospital-provided de-escalation training program within 6 months of hire.
Salary Range:
Minimum 22.00/hour - Maximum 22.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority. The Hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
