LighthouseCareCenters.com The Lead Mental Health Technician is a key member of the Lighthouse Milieu Management Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric therapeutic strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Lead Mental Health Technician works Nursing Management to ensure 24 hours a day management of the therapeutic milieu for each unit and supervision oversight of the Mental Health Technicians (MHTs).
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Vital role in providing all residents and staff with a safe, structure and therapeutic environment. Ensure that all milieu staff are following the programing, services, activities, behavioral plans, any special protocols, program schedules on each unit, and systems of communication in all programs that promotes consistency with agency training and program philosophy. Work directly with leadership to measure and report program outcomes and maintaining program policies and procedures. Models appropriate and therapeutic redirection and limits of resident behavior, time outs, seclusions/restraints for all staff. Assists with preceptorship and training in new hire orientation. Works with HRD, DON and Nurse Management to hold MHT staff accountable for their work, to provide supervision and disciplinary counseling as needed through the Nursing Department. Education:
High School Degree or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.
Experience:
One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness. At least once year of experience training and developing other staff members in psychiatric patient care techniques or at least one year of experience performing similar duties.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of approved Basic Life Support and approved Behavioral Management training. Complete course and certification as a Handle With Care/ Verbal De-Escalation Instructor.
