Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our Emmett Idaho team! You will be working with an awesome team of providers, mental health technicians and office support staff to provide mental health services in the Treasure Valley. A Mental Health Technician is a mental healthcare professional who plays an important role in mental health treatment, serving a variety of roles in the direct care of individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Mental Health Technicians at GPS Psychology & Anxiety Clinic complete mental health services under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Duties and responsibilities include administrative support with managing psychological testing referrals, appointments, triaging patients, assisting providers in gathering background information at intake appointments, administration of standardized psychological instruments under the supervision and direction of a provider, and supporting providers in patient care as needed. A degree in a healthcare or human development related field is desired, but in some cases, will hire people with the necessary attributes and work ethic. The job requires individuals who are passionate about mental healthcare and have great communication and rapport building skills. Additionally, the job requires individuals who are able to positively work with individuals with varying mental health diagnoses and can manage and navigate patient communication styles with patience and kindness. Additionally, a mental health technician will need to work well in a team setting, collaborating with and supporting providers, other mental health technicians and administrative staff. Being able to take constructive feedback is a must. There is availability for part-time positions, but preference will be given to full time applicants.
