Crisis Case Manager Behavioral Health Crisis Center - Idaho Falls, Idaho (Scheduled shift: 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM) About Us The Behavioral Health Crisis Center is a 20-bed voluntary crisis stabilization facility providing 24/7, year-round support for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises. Our mission is to provide compassionate crisis intervention, stabilization, and coordinated referrals to treatment providers throughout Idaho Falls and across the State of Idaho. We are committed to delivering trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and client-centered care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. Our team values compassion, professionalism, collaboration, and community connection while helping individuals navigate acute behavioral health crises and access ongoing support services. Position Overview We are currently seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Crisis Case Manager / CBRS Specialist to join our multidisciplinary crisis team. This position plays a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises by assisting with stabilization, assessment, advocacy, discharge planning, and connection to community resources. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced crisis environment while maintaining a supportive and empathetic approach toward clients and team members. This position is scheduled for a consistent shift of 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM .
Qualifications Candidates must:
Hold a bachelor's degree in human services, behavioral science, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred. Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral health, crisis intervention, case management, social services, or a related field preferred. Successfully pass an enhanced background check and fingerprinting process in accordance with state and agency requirements. Complete Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 90 days of hire. Hold current CPR/BLS certification or be willing to obtain certification upon hire. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Possess excellent organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a high-acuity environment. Maintain professionalism and composure during crisis situations. Possess basic computer proficiency, including electronic health records (EHR), email, and Microsoft Office programs. Hold a valid driver's license and maintain reliable transportation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine eligibility for admission and appropriate level of care. Complete mental health, behavioral health, and suicide risk assessments. Assist individuals in crisis by identifying immediate and long-term needs and connecting them with appropriate community resources and support services. Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, de-escalation, and stabilization assistance to clients. Advocate for clients throughout their stay within the Crisis Center. Develop individualized treatment, service, discharge, and safety plans in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary team members. Coordinate care with hospitals, law enforcement, behavioral health providers, community agencies, and support systems to ensure continuity of care. Facilitate referrals to outpatient services, substance use treatment, housing resources, peer support, and additional community programs. Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation within the electronic health record system. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with medical, psychiatric, peer support, and nursing staff. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and all agency, state, and federal regulations. Support a safe, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment for clients and staff. Respond appropriately to crisis situations and assist with safety interventions when necessary. Schedule and Work Environment The Behavioral Health Crisis Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. While this position is scheduled for a consistent 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM shift , flexibility may be required for weekends, holidays, training, and occasional coverage needs during high-census periods.This position may require:
Working directly with individuals experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises. Standing, walking, bending, and responding to crisis situations throughout the shift. Working in a fast-paced, high-acuity behavioral health environment. Maintaining professionalism and sound judgment under pressure.
