Job Description

Overview Join the founding team of Lake Harbor Behavioral Health! A new behavioral health and substance use treatment facility opening soon in Gurnee, IL. We are seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to support patients in their daily recovery journey. This is a hands-on role focused on patient supervision, engagement, safety, and support within a structured treatment environment. Key Responsibilities Build positive relationships and rapport with patients Assist patients with daily living activities and treatment participation Supervise patient activities and maintain awareness of patient whereabouts Support patient engagement in groups, recovery activities, and appointments Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment Document patient observations and activities accurately and timely Support de-escalation of patient behaviors using approved techniques Follow all

CFR, and confidentiality standards Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the facility Follow all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and mandatory reporting requirements Collaborate with clinical and nursing staff as part of the treatment team Attend staff meetings and participate in team communication Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred 1+ year experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or similar support role preferred CPR certification preferred CPI / verbal de-escalation certification preferred Behavioral health technician certification preferred Valid driver's license preferred (may be required for transport duties) Why Join Us?
